Site management and clinical trials logistics issues are diverse and addressing each issue is likely to require involving a different group of individuals with specific expertise. Network and DAIDS Leadership and HANC work closely with the OCSO and OPCRO offices at DAIDS to identify issues and identify appropriate individuals to involve in ad-hoc working groups that are likely to be convened on a short-term basis to address specific issues.

HANC recently formed an on-going cross-network Site Coordinators working group to address issues of common concern and harmonize policies and procedures regarding site-level operations.

The Financial Disclosure Working Group developed cross-network financial disclosure guidelines.

Communication Process to Address Site Level Issues

In order to address such a wide variety of issues, HANC has set-up processes in place to facilitate communication and connect the right individuals.

Financial Disclosure SOP

HANC-facilitated Financial Disclosure Working Group is pleased to announce version 1.0 of the “NIAID (DAIDS)-supported and/or Sponsored HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Networks Financial Disclosure and Conflict of Interest Guidelines”.

The guidelines are intended to identify significant financial interests of network-affiliated researchers and avoid conflicts of interest, or the appearance of such conflicts, in activities of the networks. Network Leaders approved the guidelines on the April 2010 Network Leaders call and the document has been adopted as standard operating procedure for all networks effective 15 April 2010.
